Dock won't open Files

Don't know if this has been asked before but I can't open files by dragging them to the dock. Any reason why this is happening? Thanks.

EDIT: Sorry I forgot to say I'm on 10.4.2

What files? What application?

If it's PhotoShop, this is caused by doing an Upgrade installation or an Archive & Install installation of Mac OS X over a previous version of Mac OS X. This is the fix:

Thanks for the reply. It's not just Photoshop. If I try to drag any file, Illustrator, text file, Word file, etc., the icons on the dock won't even highlight.

Try holding down Command and Option as you drag the item -- it's just a workaround, and doesn't solve the underlying problem, though.
