Well it's not how much RAM OS X can take, but how much
an OS X box can take. up to now we can have a max of 1.5Gb of RAM in our macs, so if we can't go further up why be able to handle it ?
An lets assume that a machine does come out that can have 4 Gb of RAM, first of all who will use 4Gb of RAM? and second of all, if this situation arrises, the OS will adapt to better suit the needs of the hardware. As it stands, the OS does not need to be able to handle more than 1.5 because of hardware limitations
