D'Oh! Recent Mail Snafus

devil's plaything
I am running the most up-to-date Leopard on an eMac (1.42 GHz) and have recently had a couple of real snafus with Apple Mail using my macosx.com account.

The first happened the other day after I had dragged and dropped a 64 KB jpg from a message stored in my Sent mailbox to a New message (I was too lazy to retrieve the original image.) It took a long time to send the new message and when I checked my Sent box, much to my horror and embarrassment, I saw that the image had somehow been converted to a 2.7 MB tiff!

And just now I received an email that must have been sent out at least 8 hours ago. After opening it, Mail's Dock icon still read 1, although there was no other new mail. Then when I replied, the message I sent immediately arrived in MY Inbox, addressed to ME. And the original message I had received had vanished from my Inbox and was nowhere to be found.

What's going on?
