Okay...

Here is our need. This is to go directly to the server to help its overhead.

We need...

512meg additional, would prefer 256meg sticks.

PC100-333 or PC100-322 or PC100-222 are all fine. No EDO/ECC Parity RAM. These are for a Intel box.

I know some of you probably have some collecting dust and if you'd like to donate to the cause, that would be awesome.

I know this is a little off-topic, but it may or may not help out your RAM needs.

I bought a PC-100 2-2-2 512MB chip for my G4 a while back, and I own a G4/400 PCI machine. Well, as you may have guessed, my machine only "sees" 256MB of that stick of RAM since my computer will support DIMMs of up to 256MB only.

I've been asking around for a long time and wanting to find someone who's willing to trade two 256MB PC-100 chips for my one 512MB chip -- you know, to consolidate RAM and free up more slots -- whatever they want. Even swap: 2x256 for 1x512.

At any rate, since my machine only holds 4 DIMMs, I would have to remove one of the remaining 256MB modules and would have no place to put it if I were to replace my 512MB chip with two 256MB chips.

I would consider donating this "extra" 5th chip to you guys if you could possibly help me out... one hand washing the other... scratch my back, I'll scratch... well, you get the idea.

Here is the deal...

I have lots of RAM, all the wrong RAM.

I have numerous 128meg & 256meg DIMMS that are EDO or Parity or something. Anyhow... they don't work in the Mac or my Intel systems.

They are all PC133-333... so, if anyone wants to swap... let me know.

how do i know if these two sticks in front of me are parity or not...

i have one 256 (which does not in OSX ---it was causing my windowserver crashes)

i also have a 512 that is "64x4 PC133" which is not even recognized in my mac...

the PC i have is too old to see any ram over 128mb

i would be willing to donate one of them if they will work.
