Don't Install Safari v80 Update!

Don't install the update!!!! It completely ruined Safari. It ran at first, but my preferences were lost every time I re-opened it. I deleted it, the preference files, downloaded the one from Apple's site, but it's still corrupt. The program opens but no window. I do [command] [n] - nothing happens, choose new window from File menu, still nothing. Anyone know how to fix this?

I made the big mistake of downloading an earlier unauthorized release and it fried Safari beyond belief. I had to totally delete all Safari files from my computer and then download a new copy. Never again!!!! I had to redo all my bookmarks and lost a few of the more obscure ones. If Apple doesn't offer it, don't do it. I don't know if they're doing this on purpose but whether or not, it is not a good idea.

Good luck in trying to work it out, you may be better off just dumping it and starting all over like I did.
