double extensions?!

After upgrading to 9.2.2 I now have a load of duplicates in my extensions manager - the old ones have been disabled but is it ok for me to delete them?

the old ones are simply versioned 'Mac OS Z-9.2.1' and the new ones are versioned 'Classic Compatibility Environment 1.6'

is this normal?

Most any extension (same name - older version) could be dumped. there might some exceptions to that but most users don't experience problems

If you install Conflict Catcher - even the Demo version - then when you start it up it will ask you about duplicates and show you the versions side-by-side so you can easily choose to delete the older one. A feature that has come in handy on many occasions.
