Downgrading?

I have got OS 10.2 but my ISP (BT Broadband) has told me that I can only connect using 10.1 and below.

Is their anyway that I can downgrade?

I'd pressure BT to bring out up-to-date drivers. 10.2 has been out for months now, and many new programs such as Safari and iTunes 3 will only run under 10.2. Write to them and tell them that you are not happy.

In the meantime, you can get a copy of 10.1 from eBay - assuming it doesn't cost too much. You'll need to do a clean install, and will need to export your address book and bookmarks.

I looked at a couple of ISP's:

AOL - don't supply broadband for mac

Demon - Too expensive for installation

etc.

BT are now saying that I should be able to connect with any version of OS but I need to check my PPP settings, etc and that I will have to speak to Intel as it's an Intel modem, dunno why cos I have a green light.

For gods sake all I wanna do is use my OS X on tha net :(

They should serve you better. Downgrading is about as nice as if you had an XP and they forced you to get ME. :(

Hey, call the BT now.. make noise, complain, complain, complain, the Brits can't stand people making noise so they will do what you want sooner or later .. :D [if not i guess i can help you downgrade, but the idea sucks]

Can you not simply connect to your cable modem over TCP/IP or ethernet, instead of using specific drivers? I would have thought you could do this, since that is how you do it with ADSL. Simply speak a industry standard protocol to the modem.

Sorted!! after speaking to Intel and BT and them telling me that everything looks ok I played about with the settings and even though my password should be blank I put a space in and tried to connect and hay presto it worked.

Thanks for the help guys!!!
