Downloading PDF with Safari

I am running Tiger with the newest version of Safari and I have noticed that everytime I download a PDF it isn't saved to my desktop, but rather it is opened in another Safari window. Is there anyway to instruct Safari to knock it off and just download everything to my desktop as it did before the upgrade?

Go to your Acrobat Reader and Edit - Preferences - Internet and tick off "Display PDF in Browser"

hi - I find it convenient to have PDFS display in my browser at times but not always. In case you have not discovered this, try a control-click on a PDF in a browser window. This will give you the option of viewing it within the Preview program, which offers more options for PDFs.
