"drivers not installed"?! WHAT?!?!

you guys were a help with the last problem i had, now i'll throw'em all at you.

once and for all, what is the deal with this error message in the print center in OSX.2.8?! i just upgraded 3 macs to this, they all have a printer attached (espon c82, c80, and 900g) and they all say exactly the same thing when i try to add them. i've tried reinstalling the drivers from the install disk, running print center repair, and installing the drivers straight from epson.

any thoughts, or cross-reference to other similar threads would be great.

ok, but this will cost you your next born :)

Did you use the 10.2.8 combo updater? If not, I would download and use that, then add the printers.
 
yeah, man, i did. i can't just drag and drop the drivers because i don;t know where they actually reside. i can get them from the "epson usb" choice in the add printers dialogue, but is that okay to run off? i'm doing pre-press work, here. someone said to use gimp-printer. ever heard of that?
