Dropped MacBook

I dropped my MacBook flat on its bottom from about 4 feet. I booted it up and got the folder with the flashing ?. I thought something might be wrong with the hard drive like it became unseated. I opened it up and the best I could tell it wasn't but I removed it and reseated it. Then I got a blank dark screen. I restored my operating system from my installation disk. I have also had updates downloaded since I have these done automatically.
My system is now very slow sometimes. I can't access some of my folders. I have no clue what I have done or not done but my system is not performing right. I can still surf the web but my microsoft office 04 file is there and I can open excell and word but it closes suddendly. If I not mistaken I was having problems with programs closing before I dropped it. I would appreciate any help I can get.

Sounds like the hard drive is physically damaged. If you have a spare lying around, try replacing the hard drive with a known good one and see if that helps.

If not, the damage may be with another component of the system. A four foot drop has a tendency to do that. If another component is damaged, it may be able to be identified by running the Apple Hardware Test CD that came with your computer in loop mode.
