Dropping connection on Mac only

I have Airport (11b) with 5 computers in the house, 3 Macs and 2 PC laptops. On the Macs I can see other wireless connections in the neighborhood and every time one of them appears the Macs (not the PC's) drop the connection and I can't reconnect until that person goes away. I've never had the PC's drop.
Both PC's are running XP and all Mac's are 10.3.9 or later.
Any ideas?

Choosing Use Interference Robustness seems to have done the trick. Never paid attention to that before. Wonder why that's not turned on automatically?
