Dual Audio Output? iMac

Does anybody know if it is possible to simultaneously output from both the headphone jack and the iMac speaker output. I am trying to run an output to another set of speakers so as to maximize my outputs without having to invest in a set of speakers. Any thoughts?

will if you are running a G5 iMac no love there for that the haedphone jack is your only output on that mac. You might try getting one of the haedphones spliters at http://radioshack.com might work. But you will need to trim some of the caseing around the plug on the spliter to get to set in the hole.

By default, there is no way to use both internal speakers and the line out. The sound card uses a sort of gateway switch to operate between the two. Kind of like a change up on a railroad track to switch a train from one track to another.

There MAY be a way to hack this default (perhaps using Terminal, i imagine), but I haven't come across any methods yet.
