dual monitor problem

I have a dual monitor setup ( 2 x 23" cinema displays). Recently, when the monitors go to sleep or the computer goes to sleep, when I resume work, only one monitor ( the primary ) will turn on. When I try to turn on the second monitor using the power button on the side, nothing happens. The white LED does not turn on. I have to shut down the computer, and turn it back on for everything to work fine.

Any ideas why the second display goes dead? I've used "detect displays", etc.

Computer specs:
Dual 2 GHz with 2 GB ram.
GeForce FX5200
OS: 10.4.3
23" Apple Cinema Displays.
