Dual-Monitors Question

What do i need to hook up a dual monitor display.

I have a 15" LCD Dell monitor, and i was wondering if i can/could hook it up to my laptop. I'm not sure if my laptop came with the right plugs to install it, but thanks for any help.

If you're trying to use it with your PowerBook in your signature, all you need is the included mini-DVI to DVI or mini-DVI to VGA adaptors, depending on what kind of adaptor the Dell monitor has. If it's VGA, use the mini-DVI to VGA adaptor... if it's DVI, well, you get the picture.

Once it's plugged in, go to your Displays System Preferences pane and you'll see on the primary monitor (the one with the menu bar and Dock (if it's on the bottom of your screen)) a selection for "arranging" the monitors.

You'll have to play around with this to get it just right for dragging windows across the two, but eventually you'll get it, and your computer will remember the setting.

Every time you open the Displays System Preferences pane, it will open in the centre of BOTH monitors, to allow you to set resolution and desktop picture settings for both.
