Dumb RAM Question

Well tis the season to be jolly and all that, so my better half has bought me a whopper 1G of RAM for Christmas.

We both have Powerbooks, mine is a 1Ghz 15", my partners is a 1.33Ghz 15". I was hoping I could take out my old 512mb RAM and put it in the other Powerbook, but have since noticed that when you order RAM online it seems both Powerbooks take different types of RAM.

Both take the PC700 DR RAM, so is it possible I could do the swap, or will all hell break loose?

Cheers
Jon

I suppose you are talking about the alubook 1Ghz 15'' and not the tibook. The tibook takes SDram only and has a fsb of 100mhz.
However, the 1Ghz alubook uses 133mhz iirc. The 1.33Ghz model is using 167mhz. PC2100 are suitable for 133mhz fsb but not for 167mhz. If your 1Ghz G4 has PC2100 modules, you shouldn't install them into your partners alubook. But if you have at least PC2700 memories, you can easily use them in the 1.33ghz alubook. Nothing will break or burn. ;)
