I updated from PANTER to TIGER.
In iChat when I try to use my DV Camcorder as a webcam
I get an error message.......
" YOUR WEBCAM MAYBE IN USE BY ANOTHER APPLICATION" !
Even when everything else is closed.
Also in yahoo messanger my DV camcorder will not work there either!
" SORRY NO WEBCAM FOUND ON THIS COMPUTER"
Where as before:
In PANTER OS X This DV device worked with no problem in yahoo and ichat.
In SYSTEM PROFILER it recognices this DV Device under FIREWIRE And gives the name and connection speed.
The Dv camcorder works perfectly in i movies so it does work no problem in other applications.
iChat does reconise the DV web cam in the button on the top right hand corner of the iChat window, but when you press it it gives the error message.
I have updated tiger 10.4.2 to all latest updates.
Systen profiler recognises the Digital camcorder Under Firewire
It works perfect with every other application
I boot from tiger install cd and
I have repaired the disk in disk utility
Verifiy permissions / disk
And it say that there is nothing to repair!
It worked perfect as a WEB CAM in the Panter
And on an old imac G3 mac under MAC OS 9
