DV camera not recognised by OS X

I tried importing videos from a video camera in iMovie; it works great in OS9, but not at all in OSX (stays on "camera disconected"). In OS9, Apple System Profiler recognise it as a DV camera; in OSX, the OS knows there is something connected, but doesnt know what it is.

Configuration:
-brand-new samsung camera (I'll check its refs if needed)
-iMac G3 600, 256 RAM
-OS X 10.1.3
-iMovie 2.1.1

Any idea what the problem could be?

Try going to Apple's support site. I remember a bug along these lines a while ago, affected my camera too, but now everything is resolved. Good luck.
