dvd burning problems

My Imac G5 20" has problems burning dvd's
Using IDVD ,after i create the dvd that i want i save to favorites.
then i burn.
after a while, a window will come up and say " idvd quit unexpectedly"
when i open up idvd again , nothing will be saved. I have tp recreate the dvd again.
More recent, on top of that, the dvd will pop out and nothing was recorded to the dvd...
is this a software or hardware problem?
has anyone else experienced this?
Am I in for a big fight with apple?

the only place you can save anything as "favorites" is when saving the altered theams. when you save a composed DVD project you should be saving it either to your main drive or (if you have on) a second drive.
goto this website and get the book iMovie the missing manual.

use the "help" menue in iDVD and look up "saving a project" and "saving theams". REAL big difference.
again..you are not saving them correctly and therefore have nothing to burn.
