DVD Menus Distorted

Hi there,

I was wondering whether anyone else had experienced blocky/distorted DVD menus? Its only happened since 10.1 and only with certain DVDs - most play fine! ... if I switch the screen size, the menu displays fine ... right until a new menu is loaded and then its blocky/distorted again ... ???

... it *may* have been since 10.1.2 ... but I'm a bit hazy on that point. Still. The symptoms I got right in my orig. post, even if not the version ;-) ... so has anyone else experienced this??

It sounds like something is resetting your screen resolution when you play a new DVD.

I don't have any problems playing DVDs on my TiBook in 10.1.3, so I can't say I've spotted this, but will have a play tonight to see if I can find anything similar.

Have you done all the DVD Player upgrades? I think we're on 3.1.1 now. It might be worth trying them before you start worrying...
 
... and I've also tested this on my gf's iMac, which I haven't updated past 10.1.1 and have the same behaviour there.

Its not resetting the screen size of everything, as the rest of the screen when I play the DVD in windowed mode is fine ... this only effects the content of the DVD playback. Just thought I'd elaborate on that point ;-)
