Dvd Playback Problem On G3 Lombard Pb

I recently bought a DVD drive and 3rd party Decoder card to watch DVD's on my 333MHz Lombard Powerbook (512 MB RAM). Although Panther works beautifully on this machine, I must use OS9 to watch DVDs. The problem I'm having is that picture quality is rather poor...looks posterized and some colors drop out entirely. There's no frame dropping as far as I can tell...just bad color reproduction. Have turned off virtual memory as directed in some other forum. Quicktimes and other video look perfectly fine. Any thoughts??

Thanks in advance,

Looks a little grainy? Yeah mine does that too. I read somewhere there was a way to get the DVD working on OS X but can't seem to recall it.
