DVD-R adding data

Hi.
In Windows OS you can add data or what ever to a 4.7GB DVD-R disc if you don't finalize the session. So later you can add anything else you want behind the first data until the disc is full.........
I can't find a way to make my iMac G4 to not close a session. Once the disc is ejected you can't modify anything.
Is that just the way it is? Mac can't be that retarded in disc technology......
Thanks.

What you are referring to is an option called "Multisession" discs. You can burn mutli-session discs using third party disc-burning programs such as Toast. However, Apple decided not to include the option in Mac OS X's built-in disc-burning system for reasons of stability and security. Multisession discs do have some minor issues that, while unimportant to 99% of users, would be a deal-breaker for some people.

This should probably work on DVDs too
