Dvd+r/rw ?

Italian Cool Mac User :-)
I want to add a SuperDrive to my new PowerMac DP 1.25...

Well, I can buy a normal one from Pioneer that works with DVD-R/RW...
And now there is also the new model that works with DVR+R/RW...

Can I use DVD+R/RW ona a Mac?
Is it good or it is better to leave them alone? Well, it is a little more expensive...

And there are other DVD Burners from Nec, Sony, ....

What do you think or what have you tried? ;)

Ciao :D

Maybe the new Pioneer A-06 will work, will be called DVD Writer. Supposed to work with all writeable DVD media.

I know... Maybe... is always Maybe untill somebody can try it... and I know a few people that works with the "old" one with PCs and Macs...

So I left the new and more expensive one, and got the good one...

:D

While the DVR-106 is a +- burner, there's nothing that says Apple will use this drive. I see they're using another brand in the dual-1.25GHz models currently shipping. Even if they do use the -106 drive in the G5 (and the specs call out the -105), there's nothing that says iDVD ("Authoring Support") will support the "+" media. I would imagine that Roxio will be prepared with Toast so DVD Studio Pro and other DVD authoring software will probably work (as they are simply producing the components necessary for the disc image).
