Dvd rip/compression software

hey, have been using mac the ripper for ripping, and dvd2one for compression. However free trial of dvd2one has ended, can anybody steer me in the direction of a freeware product that either rips and compresses or just compresses ripped folders to 4.7g?? Thanks alot,

Handbrake. This one just compresses, don't know about ripping. Handy if you want to take a fave episode, or movie with you a trip and don't want to risk taking the original copy.
 
It doesn't compress for use in a DVD-Video, though. It's rather meant for creating MPEG-4 and H.264 movies.
If you have Toast Titanium, that one can take Video_TS folders and compress them for one DVD-R. (It's a very good program, anyway, but not so cheap...) Or: Buy FastDVDCopy. It does everything with one button (i.e. ripping, compressing, burning). Very nice one.
