DVD-ROM Problems

Hey guys a couple months ago I burned a DVD with most of my programs backed up. I wanted to see what programs were backed up today and my iMac wont't read one of the folders within the DVD. It's the folder with the most files and OS X just starts thinking and then minutes later it does nothing. This happed three times in a row. I tried force quiting but it didn't respond. I had to restart the computer manualy from the start button in the back. I never have to do that, that's really strange.

I'm running 10.1.5 800Mhz iMac with superdrive.

I burned the DVD using Toast 5.3

Thanks for your help!!!

Did you try that DVD somewhere else too? Are there any scratches on the dvd?
Sounds to me like either the DVD is messed or your Superdrive doesn't like the media. Toast mostly follow a verifying step after the DVD was burned. I suppose you did so since it was a backup.
So, check out if your DVD is readable in other macs (friends, family, Applestore...). If it works, we should check why your drive doesn'T like it.
