Hi,

How can I play a DVD that has been recorded on a DVD-RW disk formatted as VR mode?

I can play it on the TV's DVD player, but when I finalise the disk and put it in the mac (10.6), the disk shows up , but I cannot play it.

Is there some way to play it or to convert it into a regular DVD format?
 
Three steps:
  1. Double-click on the DVD Desktop icon to open a window.
  2. Double-click on the VR file in the DVD window to play it.
  3. There is no step three.

If this does not work, then you need to give a lot more information:
  • You give the impression that you are using the DVD player to burn a DVD that you then try to use on your Mac. Is this true? If not, then what exactly are you doing?
  • Also--Which brand and model TV?
  • Is this a TV with built-in DVD player or a standalone DVD player connected to your TV?
  • If the DVD player is standalone, then which brand and model DVD player?
 
I have never had good luck with videos burned to a DVD-RW disk.
Try that with a DVD-R, or a DVD+R - whichever works for you.
