I just bought an 18" LCD that has DVI-I and VGA output on it. My problem is that as of yesterday I only had the VGA cable for it and had to go through an adaptor for my graphics card (VGA -> DVI, geforce4 ti). Anyways, that works fine, but with my recently purchased DVI cable the monitor doesn't receive any signal. The DVI-D cable I have doesn't have the analog signal wires like its DVI-I brethren. Am I to understand that the signal coming out the DVI port on my graphics card is analog? If so, is there any way to change this from OS X (display panel isn't very helpful)? It seems kind of silly to use a DVI interface at all if you're just going to use the analog portion of it. I'd appreciate any advise any of you could give.
