Dysfunctional Airport

Dris

The Benevolent
I've been using my Airport Extreme Base Station (snow with two ethernet ports) for a while without any problems. But suddenly, last night, it began screwing up.

I can use it for a while, then it will stop working. I won't be able to access the internet or anything else. All three lights will be lit, none blinking. The only thing to do is unplug it and plug it back in, at which point it will start up and repeat the whole freezing thing within minutes.

I can't seem to get it working. None of the "hard reset" instructions have worked for me (unplug it, hold the reset button and plug it in, hold for some seconds). This is getting very frustrating. Any help? Thanks.

I have same problem with 3 Airport Extreme Base Stations...

I doubt that interference is the reason, but I have noticed that the signal strength icon in the menu bar has not always been full lately, so I won't rule it out.

My wireless phone runs at 800MHz, so it's not coming from that (Airport is 2.4GHz, right?).

I'm changing the channel to "automatic" from 10 in the admin utility. We'll see how it works out.

I'm to lazy to get my Airport manual down right now, but I remember something in there about what different combinations of lights meant. Try looking in there.
