editng default paper sizes/print settings

Hi,

Is it possible to select a default printer/print size that is not in the default print size list that OSX offers for "Any Printers" or in the Print Center.

Its just we're trying to run a kiosk on a touch screen iMac that needs to produce a receipt from a small receipt printer that doesn't use a standard print size.

So therefore I need to have OSX set to print to this non-standard size every time it boots up.

Are there any pref files I need to change? Or can I do this through the GUI??

Please help! This is driving me nuts! :)

I thougt you did that by creating a "Custom Paper Size" in the "Page Setup" dialog.
Different printer drivers have different preset paper size depending on the printers capabilities.
The receipt printers i have worked with did not have any Mac printer drivers, so I had to control them directly on a serial port.

Cheers for replying.... Yeah your right, you can specify a custom paper size in Page setup, but I don't even need to go that far as I have the correct drivers for the receipt printer, so I've got the correct print sizes!

The only problem is, I still have to switch to them in "Page Setup" every time the application that I wish to print from is opened - which is no good for a standalone kiosk!

The recipt printer is USB - did you control the printer by firing its <ESC> commands at it? If so - how did you do it? as thats an option I've been looking at....
