EMac Classic Question

Hi

I'm new to macs. I bought a secondhand Emac 700mhz (ish) off ebay for £20 two weeks ago for a bit of a play to start learning about them. It came with Panther loaded and the panther disks. I didn't know about Classic when I baought it. I bought a copy of photoshop that will only work in classic, unfortunately the classic environment was not populated with Os 9.

So I bought what I thought was a copy of standard os 9 but turns out it is power mac G4 install and a restore disk. Can I populate classic with this on my Emac? I have tried but I can't seem to get it to work.

The disk you have will not work on your emac.You'll need to find retail version of OS 9.2 (white disk)or Emac specific install disks for your machine (gray disk) The emac install disks are easy to find on ebay.
 
Thanks for the info, back to ebay to bid some more then, for either OS 9 retail or a Powermac G4 , Just hope my wife doesn't notice ;-)
