email prgram in osx

My email program that came in osx has suddenly quit receiving messages.
I can send them okay, I prefer this over using classic outlook express.
I have gone through all internet settings and even reinstalled the osx again.
does any one have a solution,
Im using yosimite g3/350 m,achine and using 10.0.4
and have 9.2 for classic

It could be an authentication error with your SMTP server, but normally you'll get an error message.

Also, what kind of account are you using? POP, IMAP? What are your current settings for your incoming mail server?

Im using pop mail
the program had all the expectations of receiving the message but wouldn't
appear in the window .
ther were no errors.
I installed the new os10.1 thiis morning and ever ttthiong is okay
