Email stopped downloading

I have recently updated my system software to OSX 10.3.9, previously running 10.8. When I signed onto the Imail it goes to my ISP mailbox, says it is finding unseen messages, says it has found however many messages are currently watiing for download and then just stops. It will not download the mail into my inbox. I know that my incoming mail server preferences have not changed and it had worked fine on 10.3.9 the evening before.

Anyone else experience this problem?

I used to infrequently suffer this problem under 10.3.9 and something as simple as repairing the disk permissions fixed it 100%.

If you are not sure about repairing permissions you do it through, Applications -> Utilities -> Disk Utilty then select your root drive (the one OSX is installed on) and click the "Repair Disk Permissions" button located at the bottom left corner of the central box.

Let me know if this doesnt work and we can try something else.
