Email won't import

I have been using Entourage as my mail client for a while now, and I have always just copied the 'Microsoft User Data' file onto an external drive as a backup (as this seemed to be the file with all of the data in).

Unfortunately (Probably self inflicted - relatively new user), my mac crashed and I had to reload everything. I kwon can't get my mail back, I have tried just putting the folder in place, tried importing, also tried another couple of email programs including mail.app but still no luck!

The mail must be there as the file is over 600Mb in size - i just can't seem to open it!!

Any help greatly appreciated.

Somewhere in the office folder is a database repair utility, has fixed things for me before, but read all the warnings about how to back up the file first, and make a copy before you do the repair.
