right click on attachment, you will then have a choice of what program you Can use
to open the attachment. And OSX will suggest one, BUT that may not work; try several.good luck.
 
This is the wrong forum. You should hyave posted a question in Mac OS X System & Mac Software.

Now for the question, did you expect the attachment? If not it might be a virus or worm. Please verify the attachment before opening it or sending it on. Plus what is the extension on the attachment? which version of OS X on which Mac are you using?
