Emptying Trash permissions

I had problems updating Stuffit Deluxe. Following Aladdin's directions, I Trashed what they said to trash. However, now I cannot empty the trash since I don't have permissions to do so.

BTW: Aladdin has no suggestions.

Can some of you with UNIX experience reply either directly or on list with some way to empty the trash?

sudo rm -rf ~/.Trash/*

make DAMN SURE there i s NO space between the slash and the period, otherwise you can kiss ALL your stuff buh-bye.

Even though Aladdin makes decent products, they are practically clueless.
