Enemy Territory: Stand-Alone or requires original CD?

Hello everyone,

I just downloaded Enemy Territory and tried playing it tonight, but every server I join kicks me and says:

You have been kicked via punkbuster...empty CD key not allowed on this server.

I was told Enemy Territory was a stand-alone application, and does not require the original Wolfenstein to play, but if it needs a valid CD key, I presume that means it needs a wolfenstein disc?

I don't mind buying the game, but I don't want to buy it unless this will solve the problem.

Anyone know what is happening?

I just downloaded it and played with out a problem.

I really dont knwo how to help you except that you can try re-downloading it.

Make sure you're downloading the latest version. Some of the links out there aren't pointing to the latest. I had the same problem when I bought the new PowerBook, turned out to be an older version of the game causing it. I had it sitting on the external drive for a year and just dragged it over to test things out.

yeah, Id actually just put out a patch, also, make sure you aren't using any proxys or anything.
