Energy Saver

SCrossman

MacTech
I have been using X since the beginning and could never get Energy Saver to work right, particularly the ability to spin down the hard drive. Now, I find that it is working correctly on both cubes that I use. The only thing that I have done lately is install the DVD3 player update.
It is interesting to see now just how much stuff is cached in OS X.
Has anyone had similar problems with disk spin down in X?

Nope, can't say I've had any problems with my HD spinning down.

But one obvious feature missing from Energy Saver is the startup scheduler (where you can select what time your Mac starts up on which day, etc) - why would Apple drop this feature?. I miss it quite a bit...

i had the same the same problem not all the time though it started roughly a week ago and ceased right after the Iphoto install.
can it have something to do with prebinding??
i dunno:(
