Entourage 2004 picture problem

My Entourage 2004 won't download the pictures automatically, even though I've checked the preference for it do so. To complicate it, when I do click the download pictures button, the red X where a picture should be disappears but is only replaced by a blank space. I trashed the library prefs with no change.

Everything worked fine with Entourage v.X. I got so frustrated with 2004, I reinstalled Enoutourage X and then it wouldn't download the pictures and kept locking up. Went back to 2004. No more locking up but same picture problem.

G4 Laptop - OS10.4.6 - Entourage 11.2.4.

You need to make shere that it's not set to just show the place holder of what ever pic you are trying to see. I have run into that myself to. When I unchecked that the pics would show up as long as they where part of the email not linked thought html code in the email. Because sometimes the pic is linked to a site that has been updated so the pic is no longer at the URL link thatr was in the email.

When I receive an e-mail newsletter I want to see all the pictures immediately without having to press the button download pictures. Is that possible?

Place the newsletter's email address in your Entourage address book.

Try this:

Open the QuickTime preferences pane.
Click the Advanced tab.
Click the MIME Settings... button.
Check the Images checkbox.

Hay here are some pics from with in Entourage ok they say it all. Take a look.

Finally this is solved and there were two elements that contributed to the solution. The E2004 preferences have to be set as indicated by member camgangrel21. If you want them to load automatically in E2004, you have to have the email address in your address book. If they are not in your address book you have to use the download pictures button. In my case, an adresss in my address book didn't display the pictures, and the download button only brought up blank spaces where the pictures should have been.
The final solution was MisterMe's suggestion about the Quicktime Pref. Pane setting. Now it all works.

Thanks to everyone.
