entourage not sending email

Anyone any idea's on this one. We have a user that has an entourage issue. Every now and again entourage does not send out an email, even though the email appears in 'sent items'. we know the mail has not been sent because it does not show in the microsoft exchange mail log, mail that has been genuinely sent does appear here. the server is exchange 2008 .

Entourage 2008 is an umbrella covering all versions of Entourage 12 and all versions of Entourage 13. Entourage 13 doesn't work at all with any version of Exchange Server except Exchange Server 2007. The fact that your user's Entourage installation works sporadically means it is behaving at it should under the circumstances.

For reasons known only to Microsoft, Entourage does not send and receive messages instantaneously by default. It has a default delay of 10 minutes. If a user sends a message, then it is possible that the message will remain in the outbox for a substantial period of time (10 minutes, by default) before being sent. If the user quits Entourage before messages are sent, then they will not be sent until the remainder of the delay expires the next time Entourage is launched.
