Hello,
I recently convinced my friend to buy a new iMac, because she wanted a computer that "just worked" so she ended up buying one. She was using Outlook XP on an XP machine, and I she has Entourage 2008. Since I have not used a Mac since I was in grade school, I am not familiar with it, outside of my iPhone. Anyway, I installed Entourage 2008, and I wanted to take all of her old emails transferred from OutlookXP to Entourage 2008. I tried importing stuff from OutlookXP but that didn't work out. So I purchased Outlook2Mac. It seperated all the files into .mbox files and I told Entourage to open them, but they are greyed out. So I tried opening all the files with the open with option with Entourage and they all ended up in a spreadsheet with Excel. Since I work 6 days a week my only day off is Sunday, and most technical support places are closed. Anyway after a failed attempt to get Entourage to recognize the Outlook2Mac files, I tried atleast getting her Blackberry Curve to sync. I installed the blackberry mac software and it refused to recognize the device. I read on another forum you had to remove the software, delete two files in the system folder than re-install it, and it will recognize it. Then I got the device to be recognized. I tried syncing it with Entourage after checking the Sync options in Entourage, and the only thing is synced was the emails on her phone, not the calendar, address book etc. A few days later, it stopped recogonizing the blackberry. She also doesn't care for Entourage, is there a better Outlook alternative that can sync to both a Blackberry and an iPhone with the same interface as outlook, and features such as calendar etc? All I am trying to do is get all of her emails off of her XP Machine onto a Mac mail client and get her blackberry and iphone to synch with it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I do not know what I am doing, because I am only familar with PC's.
