I discovered that the problem for me was that when I tried to get rid of the remnants of Internet Explorer, I threw everything away that I thought was associated with it. Luckily, I made folders for the items which I was unsure of and labeled them with the correct paths. In this case, it turned out that the "IE 5 Control for Office," was not in the correct folder...

so it would not allow Entourage to use the Internet Explorer display engine to render the complex HTML. Once I remembered that I had done that and replace it, everything worked fine.
Hope this helps the one person that this happens to over the next couple years!

Entourage X recently stopped automatically displaying attachements in the preview pane. Text emails still show up, but items like photo attachments and mailing list emails which should be displayed as html do not show up.
I have already checked the preferences and they are set correctly to show these things in the preview pane.
I recently installed Internet Cleanup and Norton Autoprotect and assume that one of these Apps are creating the problem. I don't know how to cinfigure them to fix it?
