Epson 2000P prints slowwww

I am using OS 10.3.3 and am experiencing very slow printing (about a line every 3-5 seconds). I have updated gimp-print to 4.2.6 and get the same results with an Epson Stylus Photo 2000P.
It does this in every program.

How is the printer connected to the computer? And did you try using the Epson driver?
 
Unless you have found one, There is no 10.3.x driver for the Photo Stylus 2000P, other than the one native to 10.3.x
 
Yes, if you do a custom install of Panther, the drivers for the 2000P are included with Epson printer drivers 2, which is on disk 3, unless your installer is on a DVD.
 
I installed the Epson2 drivers but maybe I'm missing something I'll keep messing with it and let you know.

After installing those extra drivers, the next step would be - delete the printer in Printer Setup and re-ADD it using Epson USB, not USB.
