Error 9972

Hi there

I am trying to verify the disk of an iBook G3 (to reinstall the operating system in order for the user to be able to use Kotoeri -Japanese User).

I inserted a 10.3 install disk and attempted to verify the disk and then repair it. When I do I cannot verify the disk.

I get this message:

Error: The underlying task reported failure on exit (-9972).

Please advise how I can resolve this issue.

I hope you have a recent backup of your important files/data ... if not, you may be able to mount your iBook G3 on another compatible Macs desktop as though it were an external Hard Drive and transfer your files using Firewire Target Disc Mode..
