Error Code -1309

Hi there
Getting error code -1309 when trying to copy a .dv (clip-2008-08-10 11;31;11.dv) file to external harddrive via Firewire port at 400 speed. File size is 6 GB.

Macbook pro OS X 10.4xxxx


All other DV files were transferred successfully. This particular file loads at about 75% and then error code pops up and transfer is aborted. Trying to understand if file is too big or is corrupted somehow
 
what was the biggest file that you've transferred?is that the biggest?what's the format of your external HD?

Here's the thing, if your copying files from your Mac to an external HD it can only be done natively/normally/default if its a FAT32 now FAT32 has a 4GB limitation. Wiki or google it

Now if your external Drive is an NTFS there wouldn't have any file size limitation however it will not be copied over natively/normally/or by default you must install macfuse and NTFS 3G.

Thanks for the info, telluwhutman. I encountered this error when trying to expand a 4.4 meg .rar archive on an external drive. So I copied the archive to the internal drive, and expanded it successfully. Thanks again!
