Error ) on Leopard

I have a WD 1TB external HD. I am running Leopard. When I try to transfer a file that is 4GBs, I get an error 0. There shouldn't be a limit on the size of a file to transfer. Please help. Thanks.

It's obviously formatted as FAT32, which doesn't allow for files to be larger than 4 GB. HFS+ (Mac OS X Extended +journaled) will work fine for Mac OS X systems, NTFS will work fine for Windows systems. Both can be made read-/writeable with additional software. OS X can read NTFS systems out of the box, but not write to them.

To format your HD: (after backing up any data on it -this WILL destroy all data)

Open Applications->Utilities->'Disk Utility'
Select the disk in the panel on the left
Click the 'Erase' tab
Select 'Mac OS Extended (journaled)'
Type in a name for the disk
Click 'Erase'

Job done!

Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier, I had a tech nightmare with my own computer!!
