Eudora, not enough memory

Was working for a long time... suddenly...

Splash Screen, Operation Failed, not enough Memory.
Program crashes unexpectedly.

Tried rebooting blah blah...

Speaking of which. Is rebooting really a fix for OSX problems? In linux it really wasn't, usually if I couldn't fix something without rebooting, then rebooting wouldn't help either. I haven't learned where to look to fix problems in OSX yet...

For example, how can I see how much memory all my apps are using? Is there something like 'top' on the command line or something? Just tried it. Cool. Top works. however, that is processor usage, not memory right?

Anyway. How could I go about troubleshooting this memory problem that Eudora is having?

I checked the console, and I get this on crash.

I opened up that log file and took a look... but I don't think that was meant for me to look at ;)

Any help appreciated... I had a lot of problems this weekend...
:eek:

First thing to try is trashing the Eudora application. Just drag it to the trash and reinstall it.

Before doing this, backup the Eudora folder here;

user>name>documents>Eudora. Just hold the Option key down and drag that folder to your desktop. It contains all your mail, settings, filters, etc.

Once you reinstall Eudora, open it and see if it works ok, it'll ask to be setup again. You can ignore that. If it opens ok, drag the folder that you put on the desktop back to the same folder where it came from. then open Eudora and see if it works ok.

in my laziness, I switched to Mozilla's mail client.

Works great!

I'll try that Eudora fix soon though.
