hello i am new to macs in general and powerbooks specificaly. about a week ago i aquired a powerbook and transfered everything from my imac to it. everything is fine until this morning when i open it up and find all the folders in the finder are gone. the folder for the desktop is still there but documents, pictures, music everything has gone missing. totaly evaporated. it also decided it didnt like the wallpaper i had chosen and removed that as well. everything else seems to be operating fine. as far as i can tell.
i tried doing a search for some of the files that may have been in one of the folders but unfortunately(fortunately) i havent had it long enough to have anything important. just some net archives whose names i couldnt remember.
i dont know if ive given enough working details but any help would be appreciated
