Everything sounds

When I play music through either iTunes or Quicktime on X it sounds like there's some sort of 3d-spatialiser in the way - everything sounds just odd. Is this the case on anybody elses machines?

I have no problems with sound.
Everything sounds fine.

I have a B/W G3 with normal active speakers attached to it.

I read about your problem somewhere. Are you are using an iMac DV with hardware 3d sound? The hardware is not supported under X and the hardware defaults to on. Sorry to tell you there is currently no way to turn it off.

Send Apple some feedback requesting them to support it,

Yep, sounds exactly like it - bugger, typical - never mind that's what bug fizes are for I guess. Better get bug reporting then!
