Experiencing instability with 10.2.8?

I am recently experiencing a lot of instabillity. After cheching for hardware issues, I am now suspecting 10.2.8 since everything seemed to be OK.

I expierienced the following problems on my TiBook 15":

Kernel panic when trying to force quit Virtual PC.

No wake-up when opening the powerbook after putting it to sleep with a screensaver on. Or even without one on. Had to restart (which takes forever after this has happened).

Anyone similar problems / a clue?
 
Lately my problems seem to be related to partitions other than the X partition. If a partition unmounts, expect a panic or a sudden logout. I had my screen saver on, attempted to go to the desktop, and I had a all black screen. Ran a check on the partition where my apps are stored and i found problems, and the drive had unmounted.

All problems are fixed again, but how these problems occurred has me completely stumped.
 
I did repair permissions and ran daily, weekly and monthly cron scripts, but it didn't help a lot.
