Exporting InDesign text as HTML

Hi--

Has anyone found a simple way to export text (including bold and italics) as straight HTML text on the Mac platform--avoiding all the XML style sheet complexity? There is an app someone developed to do it on Windows called 'Tagconverter'.

Thanks

Tom

You could try exporting it as a PDF and then use a convertor like Trapeze to convert to HTML. I'm not sure how well it works...never tried it myself as all my 'text' (web or document) arrives to me in a noted (markdown formatting) RTF format. I copy/paste it into BBedit and run a script one of two scripts depending on it's designation (InDesign or a web-page).

You can export XML from InDesign and then convert it in GoLive. Maybe GoLive can open InDesign files and then you can save to HTML? I never use GoLive, but give it a shot and see.

Hey, thanks mdnky and Natobasso, it seems like we got at least two solutions:

Save as InD doc and import into GoLive;
Save as PDF, and 'Save As' out of Acrobat as HTML

And thanks to MacOSX.com as usual!
