External Display iBook G4

I have the VGA dongle to hook up to an external display, I was wondering if I can get a higher resolution than 1024x768 on the external display. It has only 32MB of video ram but if I remember correctly display resoltion only depends on the amount of vram you have and 32 is more than enough to get more res like say 1280x1024.

I don't recommend using it, since it is a hack -- I recommend reading the page thoroughly before installing and using.

Apparently, Apple has simply restricted the iBook's graphics card in Open Firmware. Using rutemoeller.com's solution works fine. I've made it work on an iBook G3 800, an iBook G3 900 and an iBook G4 1.2 Ghz in the past, personally.
